In the moment of our trial and our triumph
let me declare my
faith, I believe in loving my enemies. I
believe in non-violence as the
only remedy open to the Hindus, Mussulmans,
Sikhs, Parsis, Christians
and Jews of India. I believe in the power of
suffering to melt the
stoniest heart...
Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity,
Zoroastrianism and
Judaism—in fact religion is on its trial. Either
we believe in God and
His righteousness or we do not. My association with the noblest of
Mussulmans has taught me to see that Islam
has spread not by the
power of the sword but by the prayerful love
of an unbroken line of
its saints and fakirs.* Warrant there is in
Islam for drawing the sword;
but the conditions laid down are so strict
that they are not capable of
being fulfilled by everybody. Where is the
unerring general to order
jehad? Where is the suffering, the love and the
purification that must
precede the very idea of drawing the sword? Hindus
are at least as
much bound by similar restrictions as the
Mussulmans of India. The
Sikhs have their recent proud history to warn
them against the use of
force. We are too imperfect, too impure
and too selfish as yet to resort
to an armed conflict in the cause of God as
Shaukat Ali would say.

Liebe, nicht Haß
Im
Augenblick unserer Prüfung und unseres Triumphes möchte ich meinen Glauben
bekennen. Ich glaube, daß man seine Feinde lieben muß. Ich glaube an die Non-Violenz
als das einzige Heilmittel, das den Hindu, Mohammedanern, Sikhs, Parsen,
Christen und Juden Indiens zugänglich ist. Ich glaube, daß dem Leiden die Kraft
innewohnt, auch die härtesten Herzen zu erweichen. ...
Islam,
Hinduismus, Sikhismus, Christentum, Zoroastertum und Judentum, wahrhaftig, für die
Religion selber ist die Stunde der Prüfung gekommen. Entweder glauben wir an
Gott und seine Gerechtigkeit, oder wir glauben nicht.
Meine
Verbindung mit den edelsten der Mohammedaner hat mich gelehrt, daß der Islam
sich nicht durch die Macht des Schwertes ausgebreitet, sondern durch die
andächtige Liebe einer ununterbrochenenen Reihe von Heiligen und Fakiren.* Der
Islam gestattet die Anwendung des Schwertes. Aber die festgesetzten Bedingungen
sind so streng, daß sie nicht durch jedermann erfüllt werden können. Wo ist
der unfehlbare General, der Jehad befehlen darf? Wo finden sich das Leiden,
die Liebe und die Läuterung, die der Absicht, das Schwert zu ziehen,
voraufgehen müssen?
Die
Hindu sind durch ähnliche Vorschriften mindestens so sehr gebunden wie die
Mohammedaner Indiens. Die Sikhs mögen sich durch ihre neueste stolze Geschichte
vor der Anwendung der Gewalt warnen lassen. Wir sind noch zu unvollkommen,
zu unrein, zu selbstsüchtig, um Krieg zu führen um der Sache Gottes willen -
wie sich Shaukat Ali ausdrücken würde.

Letter to the Taliban and the Muslim World
Great is the Lord and higly to be praised, awesome is He, beyond all gods. (St. Francis of Assisi, Evening Prayer)
We, the Guard of Mercy (etika.com), appeal to the Taliban to release all
Christian prisoners immediately. In the Name of the Lord, the Most High,
the awesome, the Great King over all the World, we admonish you: Don´t persecute individuals who are servants
of the just and merciful God.
We condemn the US attacks against
Muslim countries, we pray for the proud nations of Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran,
Syria, Yemen and Palestine, but at the same time we warn all Muslims in the
whole world: Don´t kill
innocent Christians and Hindus because of their faith. We are all children of the same God.
Fight against injustice, fight
against liberalism and decadence, fight against those criminals who are
destroying religion, families and nations. But don´t fight against people who believe in
God.
All the murderers of
innocent Christians and Hindus will be punished by angels of revenge. Their
destiny will be the hell and “their worm does not die and the fire is not
quenched” (Jesaja 66, 24, Mark 9,48)

Freunde der Gerechtigkeit – Wache der Barmherzigkeit
Brief an die Taliban und die muslimische Welt
Der Herr ist groß und hoch zu loben, furchtbar über alle Götter. (hl. Franziskus von Assisi, Vesper)
Wir,
die Wache der Barmherzigkeit (etika.com) rufen die Taliban auf, alle
christlichen Gefangenen sofort freizulassen. Im Namen des Herrn, der erhaben ist und furchtbar, der große König über alle
Welt, ermahnen wir Euch: Verfolgt keine Menschen,
die Diener des gerechten und barmherzigen Gottes sind.
Wir
verurteilen die amerikanischen Angriffe auf islamische Länder, wir beten für
die stolzen Nationen von Afghanistan, Irak, Iran, Syrien, Jemen und Palästina. Aber
gleichzeitig warnen wir alle Moslems in der ganzen Welt: Tötet keine unschuldigen Christen und Hindus wegen ihres Glaubens. Wir sind
alle Kinder des gleichen Gottes.
Kämpft
gegen die Ungerechtigkeit, kämpft gegen den Liberalismus und die Dekadenz, kämpft
gegen jene Verbrecher, die Religion, Familien und Völker zerstören. Aber kämpft nicht gegen Leute, die an Gott glauben.
Alle Mörder unschuldiger Christen und Hindus werden von Racheengeln
gestraft werden. Ihr Schicksal wird die Hölle sein, wo „ihr Wurm nicht stirbt
und das Feuer nicht erlischt“ (Jesaja
66,24, Markus 9,48).
