Is the process secure?

All our communications are over SSL to ensure that transacting with us is secure. We have strict security and confidentiality procedures covering the storage and disclosure of information in order to maintain confidentiality; prevent unauthorised access; and to comply with the Data Protection Act 2008.

When do I receive payments for goods?

Typically we settle within 3 days although we are able to agree on a payment settlement to suit you. Payments are usually made daily via Faster Payments.

Is there any risk of bad debt?

No. We take full responsibility for any bad debt.

How easy is the application process for my customers?

The finance application process has been designed to be simple and quick for your customers. Whether applying in-store or online, applications are straightforward and take just a few minutes to complete. Once submitted, the customer receives an instant decision. The e-signature facility means the customer can digitally sign the agreement. Hence, the whole application is done in a single online session and there is no paperwork needed.

What happens if a customer’s application is declined?

If we are unable to approve an application we will notify the customer directly. Due to Data Protection we are unable to explain why an application was declined. However, the customer can contact us for further explanation. And, for automatic declines, the customer is redirected back to your website to choose an alternative payment method like a debit or credit card.

Do I need a license to offer consumer finance?

You no longer need a consumer credit licence. However, to offer consumer credit you must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or have obtained interim permission.

If you only want to offer interest-free finance, then providing the repayment period is within 12 months, you do not require FCA authorisation.

Is it complicated to support customers that have loans with etika?

No. There is no need to do anything differently. We take full ownership of customer loans and undertake all communication relating to the credit agreement throughout the loan period. We provide you with access to a secure online management information tool so you can keep track of orders and obtain real-time reporting.

Who do I call if I need help or support?

Our specialist support team is availab 9am-5pm Monday to Friday to handle any queries you may have. Alternatively, if you’re already a customer, you can contact your Account Manager.

Is it okay to send the customer their products at an address other than the one on the loan agreement?

In certain circumstances, we can support either Click+Collect or delivery to an alternative address.
